Australian lag ftl, I don't care about having our own region, but we really need our own server.
Makes it more difficult than it should be to play an interrupter or infuser, or any other role that requires precise timing. And theres always the constant rubber-banding issues, where you get teleported back a few spaces if you change your movements too fast.

oh Yoshi... *pats guildie's back*
well, I'm from NZ, there was some huge confusion between early access and the pre-orders. I missed out, getting the message that they sold out on their early access keys. At least the game came on time...
Support for Australasia? sure why not? We're already spread across two different countries because either "we're in europe by default" or, "we speak english only^^". We have an alliance with a guild who is stationed in Europe, and we can only play with them in the international districts... makes it hard...
Talking about language support, how about implementing Maori into your system :P.

Well for some reason I sometimes have that annoying lag even though I play on my own server ( America) with very good internet connection too

Yup! All I have to say .. And why couldn't we have gotten the option when we first loaded our access key to where we wanted to go Europe Servers or American?

I find it unusual that so many Aussie/Kiwi players say they got put on the European server. When my husband and friends got the game (before me, store bought), they went on to the American Server. When I bought my access code, I got it from PlayNC America, so I immediatly got put on the American server too.
I can't remember if there was a choice when we put in our codes. Any other kiwis wanna put their 2 cents in?

EB (in Australia) DOES NOT STOCK PRE-ORDERS, PERIOD.
They will NEVER stock pre-orders, it's a fundemental part of their policy.

I bought Factions prerelease from Gamesman in New Zealand and got the prerelease box. Simple, don't use EB.

Yeah. I don't know how districts in Europe work, but usually there is always English, French and German districts. German actually has the most districts usually, more than English has. You also see Spanish districts, and occasionally Italian (I believe it's based on demand), but for some I've never seen Finnish or Swedish. I see loads of Swedish players, so you'd think they could get a district to play together. Lucky you guys are all so good at English.

Well.. last time round, things got interesting in Australia. Alex Weekes had promised us he'd do his best to get us the pre-orders, and... it worked, several EB's were understocked with copies of the pre-order, while at least one in Canberra claimed to never have received any.
I'm sure EB's got sick of me calling them on a almost daily basis, and in the end, we got 2 out of 3 pre-orders.
This time around though, I believe that everyone has learned from last time, and that this time, the pre-orders are going to be available to all of us who have/will have pre-ordered. Not that I'm leaving that up to chance, I will be hassling my local EB's the moment I know the pre-order should be in store.

I do agree with you in pretyt much all aspects especially Australia gaining its freedom. The only thing in common with America they have is that they are English speaking other wise they are thousands of miles away, not even in the same continent. If countries like Taiwan can get their independence why cant Australia? Plus Australians must also get some lag if they use American servers when they are so far away. I feel sympathy for Australia!

Why oh why oh why!
Ok I've gotten some feedback, mostly negative, about this!
Why did I post this thread?
First off, Australia should not have its own region! It's completely true WE COULD NOT POPULATE OUR OWN REGION! the numbers just aren't that high yet... yet.
And secondly I warned you it was a rant!
But we are a country that is feeling neglected, We got screwed over for early access, A deadline is a deadline, in the last chapter. And I hope we can hold you to your word Alex Weekes and the rest of Anet.
We live with 'the no home glory matter', and do it well, We still represent Australia and New Zealand. Anzac [ANZ] is evidence, All aussie/nz since beta!
We/ I would just like alil respect, please see if it's a feasible solution to atleast change the default territory. Or atleast offer an option to choose, thats highly noticable eg not defaulted!
Euro with its multi-language flare is like an alien planet for players from an Isolated ENGLISH speaking country and Kingdom.
We (Aus/NZ) will always have the Timezone issues, its the nature of time lol.
But I have less lag on USA(NA) territory then I did on Euro, I still house a mule account in Euro, for storage, extra slots and accessing Aussie/NZ's for new guild memberships. before conviencing them to switch to USA territory
And asking for a AUS$ price listing isn't too much to ask, We all know it would be paid in US$ OR Euro's, but could we atleast have the option of knowing what it would be at the store price in AUS$.
Alex Weekes
Thank you for your notice, and assisting by passing the suggestions on.
I can dis-enchant the EB lies too, they do offer per-orders with added extras, often they order first round stock on a pre-order basis.
But the staff fully admitted to not passing on the 'early access keys' bonuses to buyers. They infact do this with a few titles. Most recent I was told it happened with D&D: online.
Thats EB for ya, not Anet but the release hold up last time made it too easy for EB to resist. the staff informed me.
**3 different stores supplied informations and even a regional phone call***

I've been happy with being an Australian GW player since we were given the option to change servers. ^^
European servers were just so... empty... until around 11pm Australian time.
